bulletBay Laurel
  Magickal Influences:
Psychism, Purification, Protection, Love, Strength.

Key Benefits
Bay Laurel has long been used to help stimulate psychic visions. Try sucking on a leaf (be careful not to swallow it and choke) while attempting psychic work. Alternatively, you may prefer slowly sipping a weak infusion of the herb. *Caution: Do not over do. Large quantities of Bay Laurel can cause unpleasant hallucinations and vomiting. Also scatter crushed leaves around your magick circle and whole leaves on your alter. Burn the leaves alone, or mix with other psychic herbs to bring visions. Place leaves underneath your mattress and a sachet of the herb in your pillowcase to encourage prophetic dreams.
Bay Laurel is burned for both protection and purification. Alter items and magickal tools can be bathed in the smoke for these purposes. Also, hold your breath, and cense yourself as well.
A leaf of Bay Laurel makes an excellent bookmark for magickal texts, inscribed with protective runes on one side, your name, in a magickal alphabet, on the other.
Place sachets of this herb in your athletic shoes when not in use to impart both strength and protection.
Take 13 leaves and write your name on one side and the name of the one you love (or a question mark if unsure) on the other and cast the leaves in a moving body of water. Burn another 13 inscribed leaves and bury a further 13. Love will come.
