Sulfur (Brimstone)
 |
Exorcism, Hex-Breaking,
Protection |

 |
The odor of Sulfur is that of
rotten eggs, strong and foul, however, it does have its place in the
magickal herbalists collection. Almost no other substance rids an
environment of evil influences as
quickly as Sulfur. |
 |
Before moving into a new home,
particularly an older home, close all windows and place a burning charcoal
in each room. Since this will be left
unattended, be sure that you exercise the utmost care in fire safety. (My
own practice is to place the charcoal on sand in a metal dish placed in a
larger water filled dish.) When all the coals are burning well, place a
teaspoonful of Sulfur on each coal, leaving each room as quickly as
possible. Leave connecting doors open. Lock up and leave the home for at
least 1 hour. Upon returning, open all windows. If the charcoals are still
hot, burn some frankincense or sandalwood while cleaning the home thoroughly
with water infused with lemon rind, or if the home is truly dirty, you can
use any commercial lemon cleanser. Wash all floors well, wipe down the
walls, counters...everything. This will effectively exorcise all negativity,
but only do this if the home is empty of furnishings, as you would not want
the Sulfur odor on your belongings. This spell literally stinks but works
extremely well. Use this only if you truly think that your new home needs
such a dramatic cleansing. Most homes simply do not contain the type of
negativity that would need such an extreme treatment. A good Frankincense
treatment is all that is usually needed. |

For outdoor rituals, the day
before, sprinkle Sulfur around the space. The next day, before the circle
forms, sweep the Sulfur and negativity away. |
