White Sage
 |
Spiritualism, Purification,
Healing, Strength, Prosperity, Mental Clarity |

 |
This is the most sacred herb
of many Native American tribes, a highly religious herb used for
purification, consecration and healing. |
 |
To burn sage in any space (or
"smudge" as the Native Americans call it) clears the air of all
negativity and bad spirits, as well as raising the spiritual vibration. This
is the perfect first step before performing more serious rituals or
ceremonial magick. It is also good practice to cense or smudge yourself and
any others who will be joining you in your rites. In fact, it is good
practice to smudge yourself daily with the healing and purifying smoke of
Sage. Simply take a prepared smudge bundle (or make your own by taking a
bunch of White Sage and wrapping it tightly with string, tying the string
after each wrap around so that it does not all unwind as the string burns
down), light the end of the Sage for a
moment, then blow it out and move the smoke up and down the length of your
body, front and back. This only takes a moment but will surround you with a
protective and healing shield throughout your day. It will also bring you
mental clarity and focus, encourage prosperity and give you confidence and
wisdom. |
 |
You can further enhance the
effects of mental clarity by taking a daily White Sage tonic (1 tsp. herb
per cup of water, steep 3 minutes.) Sip slowly, inhaling the steam, while
you clear the cobwebs from your mind. Drink the tea without sweetening it
and concentrate on removing any negativity from your life, or sweeten the
tea and concentrate more on strengthening the positive aspects of your life. |
