                     The Witch's Alphabet
also known as "The Theban Alphabet"

                              The Theban or Witch's Alphabet

The true origin of the Theban alphabet is unknown, though it's been speculated that it was created by one Honoriou of Thebes, causing it to also be known as the Runes of Honorious. Today, it is most popularly thought of as "The Witch's Alphabet".

The Theban alphabet is used by witches to write spells, rituals and incantations. This allows for the meaning of the spell to be hidden as well as giving the writing an appealing metaphysical quality. Use this elegant script to add mystery, and the powerful energy that it brings, to any type of Wiccan, Pagan or Occult writings you create. It's highly empowering, as well as lending an appealing mystical quality to your Book of Shadows or any other witchy musings.

Note...There is a one-to-one correspondence between letters of the Theban and Latin alphabets with the exception of the letters j and u. These letters are represented by the letters for i and v. This one-to-one correspondence makes the Theban alphabet very easy to use and even memorize. With practice, one can learn to read text written in the Theban Alphabet. As with any language or alphabet, the more you use it, the easier it will be for you to use.
